When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your payment card, place an order, arrange a delivery or return a purchase, we assume that you consent to the collection and use of this information for that specific reason.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, such as marketing, we will either ask for your explicit consent or give you the opportunity to refuse.

Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell you our products and services.

Your data is stored through Shopify's data storage system, databases and general application. Your data is kept securely on servers protected by firewalls.

If you complete your purchase through a direct payment gateway, Shopify stores your credit card data.
This data is encrypted in accordance with the PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
Your transaction data is only kept for as long as necessary to complete your purchase, then deleted.

All direct payment gateways comply with the PCI-DSS standards managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a collaboration between brands such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

For more information, see the Shopify Terms of Service.

ARTICLE 5 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to provide the services they offer us (for example, payment processing).

Some providers, such as payment gateways, have their own privacy policies. We advise you to read their policies to understand how they handle your information (for example, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Stripe).

Please note that some providers may be located or have facilities in a different jurisdiction from yours.
As a result, your information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where that service provider is located.

For example, if you are in the United Kingdom and your payment is processed by a provider located in the United States, your personal information could be subject to US legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave the website of Emma or are redirected to a third-party site or application, you are no longer subject to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service.
